The first film festival that I've had a film in post-shutdown was the 15th annual Manhattan Film Festival at Cinema Village in Greenwich Village. My short film "Horace" was shown in a really strong block of short films.
The theatre has been refurbished, and there was a good crowd in the nicely done theatre.
The creativity on display was extraordinary, and I met a few people I hope to collaborate with in the future, as well as running into a friend who was at her second film festival of the day!
This is what it's about - showing your work, sharing your work, seeing the work of others who are on the same path, and making connections with those whom you respect in hopes of collaboration.
Films - any film, well-done - take a LOT of work. It's great to celebrate the work with like-minded people.
